La cea de-a 19-a ediție a Critics Choice Movie Awards, Gravity a reușit să câștige la 7 categorii, doborând recordul de premii câștigate de vreun film, de-a lungul celor 19 ani, de când se acordă aceste distincții.
Astfel, filmul regizat de Alfonso Cuarón, a fost premiat pentru regie, imagine (Emmanuel Lubezki), efecte vizuale, montaj (Alfonso Cuarón și Mark Sanger), cea mai bună actriță într-un film de acțiune (Sandra Bullock), cel mai bun film Sci-Fi/Horror, cea mai bună coloană sonoră (Steven Price).
Precedentul record, de 6 premii câștigate, fusese stabilit de Avatar, în 2009, și, apoi, a fost egalat, în 2010, de Inception.
American Hustle a câștigat 4 premii: cea mai bună comedie, cea mai bună distribuție, cel mai bun machiaj și cea mai bună actriță într-o comedie (Amy Adams).
Chiar dacă a fost premiat numai la trei categorii, 12 Years a Slave a câștigat la cea mai importantă categorie – cel mai bun film. Celelalte două premii au revenit Lupitei Nyong’o, pentru cea mai bună actriță în rol secundar, și lui John Ridley, pentru cel mai bun scenariu adaptat.
